Around the world

Hi there,

Just as I am posting this card for the Meljen's challenge "Bookworm" I have found my card in the mouth of my new puppy :(.  I am so glad that I was able to take a few pictures before he got his hands on it.  My puppy actually ate my homework. haha.  This was a weekend freebie from Meljen's facebook page the other weekend, and I started coloring it right away, but didn't get it completed for the weekend challenge.  When I saw the challenge for this week, I thought of the hot air balloon and "Around the world in 80 days"  The background paper is from lime twist "out of the blue".  I am also going to add this to the "anything goes" challenge at Party Time Tuesdays.  Have a great night and thanks again Melissa for the wonderful images.

Happy 4th Birthday

Hi there,

I managed to squeeze in another card this month.  I had hoped to join more challenges and do more cards this year, but I have fallen way behind.  I was happy to see the challenge at Meljen's for a birthday card, because it reminded me of this great image for my friends' son's birthday.  I had the paper from DCWV already, so I colored it to match.  I also used pop dots to raise the image.

My card is being submitted to these challenges:

Butterfly wishes

Hello everyone,

It is a beautiful day here, and I am going to head out to my garden soon, but I wanted to share a new card I made.  The stamp and co-ordinating die are from Local King Rubber stamps.  I used the markers from Local King Rubber stamps to color the stamp as well.  I am adding this to a few challenges this week:

Hello friends,

I can't believe it has been so long since my last post.  I have to admit that I have not been crafting as much this year, but I am into my busy birthday season now, so I should have some more work soon.
This card was made for a tween boy, but clearly could be for anyone.  The top right circle is completely glitter, and you may notice a bit of black got into the white circle (boo).  For the other circle I used white card stock in the center.  That wasn't the plan, but sometimes you have to make alterations. :s  It's hard to see with this picture, but the "Happy Birthday" stamp is also colored with a glitter pen at the top making it two tone.
I am planning to try this again with other shapes, using my Spellbinders dies, and I hope with practice I can make it a cleaner look.

Thanks for stopping by.

O Christmas tree

Hi Everyone,

I have a few Christmas cards on the go right now, but when I saw the challenge at Meljen's I thought I would stop the card I was working on and participate.  It has been a long time since I have joined in on a challenge.  I chose a fairly easy image to color up, and although you can't see it, the garland is colored with a silver glitter pen to give it a bit of glitz.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

I am a winner on Meljen's challenge blog.  Thanks so much.  I can't wait to have a chance to play again with my new images.

Wedding card 2013

I haven't been doing a ton of crafting this year, but I have still made cards for special occasions for my friends and family.  This card is one of the most special ones I have made this year.  My cousin got married to a wonderful woman.
The idea for this card actually came from their 'save the date' card and their invitation.  They had a branch with a tiny bird on the save the date card, and a chandelier on the invitation.  The paper I used is DCWV, and I found this spellbinders die after a long search.  The lovebirds stamp was a little large for the tree, so I used Shrink-a-dinks to make it an appropriate size.  I haven't used Shrinks since I was a kid, and forgot how they work, so there is a slight bend in the finished product.  I am still very pleased with the final result, and so was the bride and groom. :)

I am hoping to start my Christmas cards soon and will try to post more of the work that I have completed this year.  Thanks for stopping by.

On vacation

Hello everyone,

It's been longer than I hoped before posting again.  I have been working a little more this summer, so I hope to post more cards soon. Although not tropical, I thought this was a good reminder of our Alaskan cruise earlier this year.  It's also a new stamp that I had been anxious to play with.  The stamp is from Stampscapes and is very long, so I just chose one end of it.  The paper is also new to me and from DCWV.
I am entering this into just a few challenges:

Scrap-Creations:  Vacation
Chocolate, Coffee, and Cards:  Life's a beach
C.R.A.F.T. Challenges:  Inspiration picture
Simon Wednesday Challenge:  Beach/Nautical

Thanks for stopping by.
