Yellow & black sympathy card

 Hi all,

I finally took some time to pull out my foiling machine and play. It's been awhile since I have used it, but it's so fun to play with and the results are so cool. The card I am sharing was made with black foil from a foil plate made by Scrapbooking Made Simple. I foiled the black on yellow card stock and cut the image down with an arch die. I gave it a simple black border with the arch die and popped up the foiled flowers onto the background for a little dimension. I used a black vinyl sticker for the words and also popped those above the arched image.  I am submitting this into two challenges:

Color Hues challenge 135 - yellow and black

TGIF challenge 583 - Popping it up

This is also part of the bingo challenge for the Canadian Card challenge for May and June that I will hopefully submit on time.

Thanks for stopping by.

Color Hues Green & Purple Thank you card

 Hello again,

I want to share a second card I made this long weekend. This one was inspired by the color hues challenge #133 using Lime Green and Purple. I decided to make a Thank you card for the TGIF challenge #577. The DSP is from an old stack from K & Company. The flower is from a 3D embossing folder from Memory Box called Breezy Bouquet that includes a die cut for the center flower. I'm afraid my picture doesn't show the colors very vibrantly, but I like how the card came out in the end.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wedding Day May 2026

 Hi everyone,

It's the Victoria Day long weekend here, so I managed to get in some good crafting time.

I made a cute wedding card for the Tic Tac Toe challenge #992.  I went down the left side of the board with Wedding, Floral, and Pink. I also used the sketch from Try a sketch on Tuesday (TSOT) #695 for inspiration and Double Trouble challenge #216, with optional wheel challenge using the car.

For this card, I used Dreamerland Crafts rubber stamp, Wedding Nuptials. I colored the image with alcohol markers. I used Echo Park Paper Co. Wedding DSP and added some pink pearls.

Freshly Made sketch 734 - Baby boy

 Hi all,

I made some time this weekend to play in my craft room. I didn't have a specific plan so I looked at some challenges to play with. I found the Freshly Made Sketch # 734. I am supposed to be working on a diaper cake now, so I was hoping a baby card would inspire me to work on my order, but alas, I'm still not working on it. Here is my entry:

I hope everyone had a delightful weekend.

Cheers!

Coral & Green challenge for Mother's day

 Hello everyone,

I have made a few different cards lately, but I have not posted any of them. My family has been my priority lately.  I wanted to join a challenge to keep my momentum going when I am home, so I chose to work on the Color Hues challenge # 131 - Coral & Green.  My coral looks more orange in the picture, but I hope it will do. I made a CAS Mother's day card. The flower and frame die I used is from Spellbinders.

I hope to post the other cards I have been working on soon. Stay tuned and have a great day.

#FMS726

 Good day everyone,

I had some time to finish a card finally.  I worked on three different ones yesterday. This one is for a sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches # 726.  I picked up a few new embossing folders from Spellbinders recently and thought I would give them a test run. These are the first 3D ones I've played with in my machine. It took a bit to figure out the sandwich that works for my machine.  I think with a tiny bit more time, I can master it. The "for you" part didn't come out as defined as I would like but that could be how it is. I look forward to keep playing with it.

Thanks for stopping by to visit.  Have a great day!

Green, Red, and Turquoise

 Good evening everyone,

I was working on Christmas cards, but I have a few upcoming birthdays, so I switched my focus for a few hours. I was fortunate enough to come across some great card challenges for inspiration. I started with the color challenge from TGIF challenges.  Number 554 is to use Real Red, Coastal Cabana, and Granny Apple Green. I knew I had paper somewhere that could match these colors but I had no idea it would fit so well with the birthday theme I needed.

My sketch inspiration came from Freshly Made Sketch #715.  I am also submitting this to the Just Add Ink Challenge #775 which is Celebration.

I hope my friend likes her card. Thanks for stopping by. Cheers.

Foil Christmas snowflakes

 Hi all,

I have a new card to showcase today for the Tic Tac Toe challenge # 283.

I used the center line for my card.

It's not a great photo because of the shine. I used a Scrapbooking Made Simple's foiled die with silver foil on gold foil paper.  I wasn't sure it would work and was thrilled when it did. I then added red pearl gems to the centers of the snowflakes and added the sentiment from the Hunkydory big book of sentiments for Christmas. I fussy cut around the sentiment with a deep red that matched the border I placed behind the foil.
I have a few hours to work in my craft room today, so I hope to get more finished by the end of the day.
Cheers to you. Have a great day.

Terrorific Halloween 2025

 Hello everyone,

I'm back with my second Halloween card using the treat bags I picked up at the Dollorama.  This one was inspired by TGIF Challenge # 547.

I think this one is my favorite so far, but I do have another idea using this paper. Hopefully, I will have time tonight to finish it. The paper is very thin, so I did have to stick it to some cardstock in order to cut it. Once it was on the black cardstock, I cut it in 1 inch strips and then glued it onto another piece of black cardstock. I then placed it on a dark blue cardstock to highlight the pumpkins a tad better. I fussy cut the bat from another of the goody bags and stamped the saying from a Stampendous stamp set of Halloween sayings.

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by.

Purple pumpkin 2025

 Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a couple of Halloween cards.  I have to admit, I don't usually do Halloween cards. I usually only do them for challenges, but I found some paper loot bags at Dollorama that I just had to do something with as they were so cute and colourful.  It made for a great card using two challenges this week.  The sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches # 708 was great for this pumpkin, and the colour challenge at The Color Hues challenge # 120 using purple and orange.

I have another card coming up next using more of the pumpkins.  Please stay tuned...

International card making day 2025

 Hi everyone,

I am posting my second card on International card making day. I still used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketch # 706, but I added another challenge using the color challenge from TGIF challenge #545.

I colored the flower image using a combination of Copics and Spectrum Noir markers. The image is from a UK magazine.  I cased Linda Callahan's image from the Freshly Made Sketch blog.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day.

Unicorn dreams on International card making day

Hi everyone,

Today I am posting a card I made on International card making day.

I used the sketch from Freshly made sketch #706.

The image and border on top and bottom are from Hunkydory. The background paper is Michael's recollections paper.

I managed a few more cards since I sat in my craft space and played all day. It was glorious. I had so much fun. I will post the others soon. I hope you got to spend some extra time in your cardmaking space on Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by.

Color Hues Challenge #118

 Hi everyone,

Today I made a card for the Color Hues challenge #118. The colors for this challenge are smokey blue and sage green. I used the smokey blue for the sky and the sage green as the tree on this Find it Trading die set. The die comes with a dog, but it was too big. I chose a wood bunny instead to keep it natural. I embossed the background paper for a little more interest.

I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Rainbow paws

Hello everyone,

I made this card today thinking of a friend that lost her pup to old age. As a pet parent of an aging dog, I dread that day. I made it using the Freshly Made Sketch #704. I embossed the clouds in the background, and then cut the paw die in rainbow colors. I was thinking of the paws walking to heaven. The sentiment is an old Stampendous stamp from a dog set.

I hope you like the card and thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Color Hues challenge #117

Hello everyone,

Today's card was made for the Color Hues challenge # 117 - Green and Orange.  I bought these great butterflies from the Dollarama a few months ago and I knew they would work for this challenge perfectly.  My struggle was actually incorporating the green. I looked around my room and found this great floral die from Sizzix. I felt like jazzing it up a bit and so I used the white paper from Sizzix Oppulent that has a sparkle effect (although you can't see it in the picture).

I am now working on a birthday card for a neighbor.  I hope you all have a fabulous day.  Thanks for stopping by.

Pink & Grey challenge garden

 Hi everyone,

This is my second entry into the Color Hues Challenge blog #115. For this card, I colored the flowers and birds with alcohol markers. The die is also from Scrapbooking Made simple.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!

Pink & Grey challenge baby

 Hi everyone,

With the weather being quite toasty in our region, we have been staying inside a lot more these days.  I was delighted to see the challenge colors for the Color Hues Challenge #115. I love this color combo. I was able to get two cards completed this time, and I had more brewing in my head but I didn't get them finished.  The first one is a very simple baby card for a Dad. I used a die from Scrapbooking made simple with a light pink striped paper. I hand colored the image in a dark grey with a Spectrum Noir alcohol marker.

For my second entry, I also used a Scrapbooking Made simple die of a garden scene.  I colored the flowers with alcohol markers, and added some grey shades to the birds.

I hope you like the card. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

To my hero

 Hello everyone,

We are having a beautiful summer weekend here on the West coast, but I chose to be in my craft room for the evening yesterday. I do have a few projects I am working on, but when I saw the new challenge at TGIF #535, I knew I had to pull out my new Trinity Stamp and die set!

I never thought I would have a use for the Superman image, but here we are. I can't wait to use this set more. It comes with a witch and ghost for Halloween, Santa for Christmas, and a fairy for fun!

I saved the sentiment for the inside. I hope everyone has a great day. Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas in June?

Hello everyone,

I have been working on cards lately, but for some reason, have not been able to finish one. I decided to try my hand at the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches # 692.

I found a scrap piece of Christmas paper on my table and thought I would shift my focus from summer to Christmas for a moment.  I didn't add a sentiment because most of my Christmas stamps are in boxes now, but I don't think it needs one.

I took a small leaf branch to add to the Joy die cuts for a little extra interest.  The paper squares are slightly different shades of blue that match the designer paper. The photo does not do it justice.

It's Canada Day weekend here, so I hope to have some more time to finish the other cards and post them, too.  Have a beautiful day!

April birthdays

Hi all,

Wow, I am actually surprised how long it's been since I last posted.  I know I got into my annual card exhaustion after Christmas, but this year took me much longer to get out of.  I have still been creating the odd thing, but I have not finished any project. April is a big birthday month for me though. My husband, brother and father are all celebrating.  This is the card I made for my brother using two current challenges.

The color hues challenge # 109 - yellow & blue, and Freshly Made Sketches # 684.

I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.
