April birthdays

 

Hi all, 

Wow, I am actually surprised how long it's been since I last posted.  I know I got into my annual card exhaustion after Christmas, but this year took me much longer to get out of.  I have still been creating the odd thing, but I have not finished any project. April is a big birthday month for me though. My husband, brother and father are all celebrating.  This is the card I made for my brother using two current challenges.

Kraft Christmas trees

 Hi everyone, 

I was really needing inspiration this weekend, and definitely found it with the challenge blogs. Then I was on a role... this card was inspired by Saturday sketch challenge # 764. I cut out the trees from a paper pad from the Dollarama.  I used a red scrap of paper from Recollections for the background, and added it all to some kraft paper. I love the warm colours of this card.

Fun colour ornaments

 Hi everyone, 

I have another project to post today for the current challenge at Just Add Ink #729.  I saw some of the samples for the challenge and fell in love with Rochelle Blok's 4 Christmas trees designed in the colours of the challenge.  I thought, what dies do I have that I can do something similar and found the ornament die from Memory box.  Mine isn't quite as elegant as hers, but I love the colour combo. I used a matching colour gem with each of the ornaments. I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the background for a little extra dimension. I used a green foil paper around the edge.

Christmas owl

I managed to get a few more cards done this weekend, although I found my mojo running a little low. I was happy for the inspiration with the challenge blogs this week. I made this one using the Freshly Made Sketch challenge # 663.

Snowperson & fox

 Hello everyone, 

Today I am posting a card I completed yesterday for Freshly Made Sketch challenge #661.  I have wanted to color this stamp for a long time. Foxes are my nieces favorite animal, so this card may go to her for Christmas this year. I have coloured a second one, but I haven't put that one together yet. The stamp is from Stampendous. I coloured it using some copic markers and some spectrum noir tri-blend markers. I don't have a complete set of either, so I have to go back and forth with what I have. I'm also not the best at colouring, so I don't tend to spend alot on the markers. I found the Tri-blend ones in a set at Winners, and wanted to try them. The papers are some scraps. The blue embossed snowflake paper is a lighter shade normally, so I coloured it darker for this card.

Inspiration challenge - pink snowperson

 Hi everyone, 

Another Christmas card made for TGIF challenge #496. This is an inspiration challenge, and as soon as I saw this picture, I knew that I wanted to play with the colours.  I instantly thought of a die that I had not had a chance to play with yet.

The die I used is from Scrapbooking Made Simple.  I used a handmade paper for the body of the snowman, and then added the pinks for the outlines. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, and I am working on some more colour combos with this die set.

Shaker Christmas card

 Hi everyone,

I have another Christmas card to share tonight. This one was made for the Tic, Tac Toe challenge # 259. I used the elements from the center down blocks: Plaid, Ribbon/Twine, and a frame.  I turned it into a shaker card using a double layer of foam tape around the frame. I hope you like it.
